Sandisk has announced the Extreme Pro SDHC UHS II, the fastest SD card in the market. It is a UHS-II Speed Class 3 card and has a maximum transfer speed of 280MB/s. Unfortunately the only camera that supports this card as of today is Fujifilm XT-1 but others will surely follow soon. New card opens up new possibilities in areas as 4K Ultra High Definition video capturing and high speed continuous shooting.
The cards will be available in April 2014 with an initial price tags of $119 for 16 GB and $299 for 64 GB cards. Sandisk will also launch an Extreme Pro SDHC SDXC UHS-II Card Reader for $50 which will take advantage of high transferring speeds when the card is out of the camera.
